Thoughts about last night

My run last night has been playing on my mind a bit and think I may have a list of reasons for such a poor result. This is not a list of possible excuses, but a list of things to try and deal with so it doesn’t happen again:

  • Caffeine – I drank a fair amount more coffee than normal yesterday
  • Food – I’ve not really increased my calories although I’m training
  • Mental games – Could have been in my head, body felt fine, just couldn’t breathe
  • Too much too soon – I’ve gone from no running in 3 months straight into a half marathon training plan

I’m going to stick with the training and see what happens whilst trying to sort out the caffeine and food issues to see if it makes a difference.
