Goal:
- 1 mile jog to warm up
- 3 times – 1 mile fast then 3 min jog recover
- 1 mile jog cool-down
Outcome:
Garmin set to metric – guessed that 1 mile was about 1.5km while jogging to start (actually > 1.6km)
- 1st mile – 0.75 miles – 8.0 mph avg – 00:05:36
- 2nd mile – 0.75 miles – 8.5 mph avg – 00:05:15
- 3rd mile – 0.45 miles – 8.0 mph avg – 00:03:19
- 4th mile – 0.63 miles – 7.7 mph avg – 00:04:53
I knew that I was under for distance (esp after terrible 3rd mile) so added an extra one. I found this a very hard session. I think it was mainly through trying to run too fast.
I will set Garmin to miles as my training plan uses it – although we should be using killometers in this day and age!
